A Knew Birth, A New Beginning!

This morning, a little after 12 midnight God bless Robin and I with our fifth grandchild. Her name is Harper and the proud parents are Caleb and Lindsie who live in Oklahoma City. Now, little Harper didn’t decide to be born. She’s here because her mom and dad loves each other, and that’s what God wanted, and we are thankful for that!

As she grows and matures she’ll have to decide if she wants to accept Jesus or not. When she does, she’ll be born into the kingdom of God. This week in Faxon, Oklahoma at Faxon Baptist Church five people have been saved, they’ve been born again.

A person is born again when they accept Jesus Christ into their hearts. If you’ve never been born again you can be today. Talk to the Lord and tell Him you’re a sinner. Ask Him to forgive  you for all sin, the sin you remember and the sin you don’t remember.  Ask Him to come into your heart and be your Lord and Saviour. If you say a prayer like that and truly mean it, He’ll save you!

Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved!”

Can A Christian Sin And Be Happy?

Can a person who says they know the Lord commit sin and be happy? Let me say this, I’m a very happy person, but I know that sometimes throughout this day I’ll probably commit a sin! Now, let me also say this, I don’t have to commit sin because Jesus Christ has set me free from the power of sin.

Committing sin is a choice that you and I make and it saddens me when I sin because I know it saddens my heavenly Father.

The key to being a happy Christian is taking your sin and giving it to the Lord immediately! Some Christians fall into sin like a pig in a pig pen and they roll around in it for a while.  They do this because they like it. A true believer will not stay in the pig pen for long because that’s not where they belong. If they stay there, they never knew the Lord at all!

The believer who abides in Christ does not practice sin, he doesn’t live in it. God provides the power to deliver from the habit of sinning.

I John 3:6 says, “Whosoever abides in Him sins not: whosoever sins has not seen Him, neither do they know Him!”FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailShare

Why I Do What I Do!

Hello Friends,

Yesterday I was at a little church in Faxon, Oklahoma. Their enrollment in Sunday School is 36 and there was 35 in attendance.

Usually on a Sunday morning they have 30 to 35 in the worship services. Yesterday there was 66. I was told the old record of 60 has now been broken.

On Sunday night they usually have 15 in the worship service. Last night there was 48.

During the services yesterday 19 people walked the aisle and made some type of decision for our Lord. I do know that one of them came for salvation.

Now get this, a couple was there that has been divorced for a while. During the invitation she walked the aisle rededicating her life to our Lord. We’re praying now that her former husband does the same thing.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they got back together?

Last night a teenager walked the aisle, She’d been at odds with the pastor for months because of camp t-shirts. She’d been a fantastic leader in the youth group but she’d stopped attending. She came forward broken, with tears streaming down her face. She asked the pastor to forgive her as they both prayed and embraced one another.

This is why I do what I do. I thank all of you for being a part of this ministry. I thank you for your love, support and prayers.

Be Blessed. I’ll Cya here, there, or in the air! Pastor Gene (AKA, Bubba)

Three Words That Tell Our Story!

Have you ever done something that was wrong or said something that hurt someones feelings and wondered why you did it? The answer is, You’re A Sinner!

Isaiah 53:6 says, “All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all!” Everyone has turned to his own way. Those three words tell our story, “His Own Way!” What’s you’re problem? What’s my problem? We want our own way and we want it now!

A little baby is in his crib bawling at the top of his lungs. He doesn’t care if you sleep or I sleep. He’s pottied his diaper or he’s starving to death. What’s wrong with the little fellow? He wants his own way!

Everyone is born with that old sin nature, but praise God we don’t have to live in it. Jesus Christ died on the cross for us so that He might deliver us from the power of sin right here and now! Praise God for His mercy, grace, and goodness!

God’s Love, Shout It From The Roof Top!

I John 3:1 says, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him!”

I am a child of God and I’m downright proud of it. I’m not afraid any longer to take a stand for my Lord like I once was!He has died for me and He has died for you! This is the message we should be shouting from the roof top!

Three In One!

Just like there are three parts to an egg, there are three parts to salvation.

Number 1. “The Yoke!” I have been saved. Jesus said in John 5:24, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hearth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come in condemnation, but is passed from death to life.”

Number 2. “The Egg White” I am being saved. Paul says in Phil. 2:12-13, “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and do His good pleasure.” If you are truly a child of God, you are going to obey Him!’

Number 3. “The Egg Shell” I will be saved. When Jesus comes back as a thief in the night we will experience the final stage of salvation. Sin will no longer have power over us, and we will be with the Lord forever!

Promises, Promises!

When I was a boy my mom made this comment! “Son, you may  not grow up  having much money, but you’ll always have your word, be a man of your word!” In other words when you tell someone you’re gonna do something, do it!

I’ve also heard this saying, “Promises are meant to be made and broken!” Some people believe that nonsense because their thinking is all wrong! Did you know that God promises us certain things? One thing He promises us is eternal life if we accept Jesus His Son!

The only kind of life that God offers is eternal life. If you lose it tomorrow or next week or next year, it isn’t eternal life that you have. It is some other kind of life, but not eternal life.

I John 2:25 says, “And this is the promise that He hath promised us, eternal life!”

The Teacher!

Every week people flock to church’s and homes across America to study the Word of God. Back in the day we called it Sunday School. I can remember one of my Sunday School Teachers. She was excellent, she wasn’t boring and she most definitely kept our attention by the use of object lessons!

I want to let you in on a secret. We have access to the greatest teacher of all time. This teacher knows all things, hears all things and sees all things. There’s nothing in this world He doesn’t know, hear, or see! His name is Jesus!

Right now, I’m having class time  with Him! You see, it’s good to have a Sunday School Teacher you highly respect, who can help you understand God’s Word, but the One who has written the Word wants to be your teacher not only on Sunday, but everyday. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can show you all things!

I John 2:20 says, “But ye have the unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things”

The Urgency Of Salvation!

Aren’t you thankful for policemen, firemen, and ambulance drivers? When these men or women get a call from someone in distress they don’t fool around getting to a home or where an accident has taken place. There is an urgency for them to arrive on the scene because it might be a life or death situation.

Everyday Christians are involved with life or death situations! Some of the people you know are headed for destruction. They don’t know Jesus and if they were to die without Him they’d go to a place called hell!

This is why there needs to be an urgency on our part as Christians. We need to find out if people know the Lord or not, for He’s the only way for them to be healed and be saved!

I Peter 2:24, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed!”
