Do You Remember?

Revelation 2:5 says, “Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first!”

“Remember.” That is the first thing they should do. Memory is a wonderful thing. Someone has said that God has given us memories so that we can have roses in December when it’s cold outside.”

Do you remember when your were saved? Do you remember how excited your were to tell others about what Jesus had done for you? Do you remember the excitement you had when you were baptized?

How’s your relationship with the Lord now? Are you still excited, or are you cold and indifferent to Him? Remember where you once were. You can get back to that same place. Getting there is up to you!

Lakeview Baptist Church Revival Final Update!

Hello Friends,

I finished revival meetings at Lakeview Baptist Church in Longview, Texas yesterday.

The people there are very warm, loving people. They love their pastor as well as our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit showed up as expected and did a mighty work. Sixty four people walked the aisle making some type of decision for the Lord, and seven of those were professions of faith.

God continues to use me in spite of myself. He’s a gracious God and I must give Him the praise and glory for it all!

I also want to thank you for praying for me as I’m on the road, and as I speak to folks in different churches. I truly believe God takes notes of your prayers. I also believe our Lord deposits a blessing in your  account located in glory!

I’ll Cya Here, There, Or In The Air!

The Sun Reflects Light!

Our lives should reflect Jesus just like the sun reflects light!

Matthew 5:14 says, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden!”

Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Why? So That Others Might Be Saved! Our Lord says in Acts 13:47, “For this is what the Lord commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”

People not only hear what we say but they watch the way we live. We should live Christlike lives so that others may see Jesus in us! Who knows, they may decide to want what we have!FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailShare

Is He Twidding His Thumbs?

Do you ever wonder what Jesus is doing right now! Scripture does not leave us in the dark concerning this.

The Bible says that Jesus is in heaven making intercession for us. He is praying for you and for me. This absolutely blows me away!

Secondly, He have the intervention of Christ. He washes those who confess their sins! Christians have sin, and those sins must be confessed in order to have fellowship with Him. He has His towel and basin and He intervenes on our behalf!

The next thing I’m going to share isn’t very popular among churches or individuals. He is an inspector. He inspects you and me. He inspects us to see if we are doing what we want to do or if we’re doing the things that pleases Him!

He makes intercession, intervenes and inspects. He does this to demonstrate His great love for us! Praise God for His love, mercy, and grace!FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailShare

The Bubba Adventure Update – Lakeview Baptist Church, Longview, Texas

God is so good. Yesterday at Lakeview Baptist Church the Holy Spirit showed up and went to work in the hearts and lives of people there.

During every invitation we expect people who have made decisions to make those decisions public. After all, Jesus died on the cross publicly, He didn’t die behind close doors or drawn curtains.

Yesterday, 37 people walked the aisle making some type of decision for our Lord, two of those were professions of faith.

I praise God for His mercy and grace. He is the King of Kings and I’m honored to serve Him!

No Connection!

I’m sitting in the lobby at the Baymont in Longview, Texas once again. Even though they moved me closer to the lobby where the router is my computer still can’t connect to their wireless internet . They tell me it may be because of micro wave ovens being used! I have no idea.

Have you ever felt that you’re not making a connection with God when you pray? I have, and it’s frustrating. You begin to think that the one who created you isn’t listening.

If that’s the case, it’s not God’s fault, it’s yours and mine. Usually when I feel that way there’s sin in my life that I’m unwilling to confess and get rid of. You see, my sin keeps me from hearing from the one who created me.  Sin is something God cannot and will not tolerate!

Lamentations 3:40 says, “Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord!”

The Tax Man Is Coming!

I’m staying at the Baymont Hotel in Longview, Texas. They have me in a room far from the main office so I’m doing the devotional this morning in the lobby. It will be short, sweet and to the point. It’s loud and it stinks because someone doesn’t know how to cook waffles or toast.

When I opened the internet the following is the first thing I saw!

The Tax Man Is On His Way!  Tax Day 2011 is just hours away. File your taxes online while there’s still time left!

It should read, The Lord Jesus Is On His Way! His return may be morning, night or noon. Accept Jesus Christ while there’s still time left!

This is the message we as Christians need to be sharing each and every day of our lives! Let’s get busy sharing the message of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Lord, Change Me!

Robin and I have been married now for almost 36 years. During that time we’ve had our ups and our downs. We’ve had our share of arguments and most of them have been because of me. For some reason I’ve always felt God gave me to her to help change her. As I’ve grown older and a bit wiser I realize the one who needed to be changed was me!

Something has happened to the human soul and human mind. In our anxiety we want God to change everything around us, “Give Us This!” “Don’t Let This Happen!” “Open Up This Door, But Close That One!”

We should be praying, “Oh, God, Change Me!” As Christians, we are to be different, we are not to be like this world!

Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

It’s Never To Late Until It’s Over!

Jude 23 says, “And others save with fear; pulling them out of the fire….

And others save with fear; pulling them out of the fire refers to sinners whom we consider hopeless. I knew a woman like that who many consider hopeless and that woman was my mom.

I can remember going to church with her only one time, but she never stopped us from going. She didn’t wannna talk about God, forgiveness and salvation, but that didn’t stop me from sharing anyway!

I never gave up on my mom. Every chance I got I told her about the love of Jesus and how she could be saved. She told me one day, “Son, I’m not stupid, I know what I need to do, I’m just not willing to do it right now!

I praise God for his mercy and grace. On her death bed she told Thomas, my brother that she had been saved. She didn’t give much of her life to the Lord, but what she had she gave it, and I truly believe in my heart that she’s with our Lord in glory.

You may know someone like that. Let me encourage you to never give up. Keep showing and sharing the love of Jesus with them. Who knows, they may accept Jesus sooner than you think!

The Bubba Adventure Update! Voca Baptist Church, Caddo, OK!

Last night I was at Voca Baptist Church in Caddo OK! I had a great time with the people there and God certainly showed up.

During the invitation 27 people made some type of decision for our Lord. Some were salvation’s and some were rededications, but I do believe most of them were professions of faith.

It’s exciting to see how God works in the hearts and lives of people. I know all this takes place because people like you are praying for me and the ministry. I praise God that you are faithful in doing your part.

Be blessed! I’ll cya here, there, or in the air!
