We Can Be Set Free! Be Thankful! Something To Think About!

After graduation in 1973 I had to make an appearance at the draft board in Blackshear, Georgia and sign up, knowing that I could possibly be drafted and sent to the Vietnam War.

I didn’t have to go but I do remember the young men that came back from that war. They didn’t come back as hero’s because many of the people in the United States didn’t agree with war so they treated those young men like criminals!

What a shame! Those young men put their lives on the line so that we could live in freedom, but many didn’t appreciate their sacrifice. What a tragedy! If you have served in the military and have fought on a battle field for our freedom, I thank you!

However, there is a worse tragedy than that! Christ’s heart was broken because of our lost condition. He bled and died for our eternal liberty. He said, “I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

He loved a lost world so much that He went to the very depths of hell itself to offer salvation. And the world rejects and laughs at the Holy one of God!

Have you rejected Him? Are you ashamed Him? Are you ungrateful for what He has done for you? Take the time NOW to give thanks to the one who has set you free from the burden of sin!

Our Lord Prays For Us Daily! Something To Think About!

Do you ever wonder what the Lord Jesus is doing in heaven? Is He walking around talking to people who have just arrived there, or is He playing  with the children by the crystal sea?

I do know one thing He does for sure.  He prays for you and me! Imagine that, Jesus, the Son of God takes time out of His busy schedule to pray!

John 17:9 says, “I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.”

The Lord doesn’t pray for the world, He died for the world and you can’t ask Him to do more than that. He prays for His own, that they might be kept while they are in the world. I believe He has prayed for me and you today. You may not have prayed for yourself but He has prayed for you!

A Black Eye! Something To Think About!

Once upon a time there was a preacher who lived in the United States. This preacher was successful at his church. His members loved him and the community knew him well. His church was the talk of the town. People were joining weekly and some were being saved and following the Lord in believers baptism.

One Sunday he suddenly resigned. Word had gotten out that he’d had an affair. Some might say, “What in the world is wrong with that man? He had everything, love from his wife, love from his children and love from his people!” He really blew it boy!

That’s right, he did, but I’ll not join in criticizing the man, I’ll pray for him. This could happen to any of us and probably has. Jesus says, “If a man looks at a woman with lust in his heart he has already committed adultery!”

This is a true story and it happened to a brother in the USA. Is he still my brother? Yes! Is he still a child of God? Yes! The problem is, he’s given God and the church a black eye! Let’s pray for this man, his wife and children. Let’s pray that God will restore their marriage and he’ll continue to serve God somewhere in the near future! (Take Heed, Unless You Fall!)

Sinlessness Will Allow You To Cast Stones! Something To Think About!

Shocking, absolutely shocking. I mean, some of the things people say and do absolutely blows me away! You hear about this person killing his neighbor, that person having an affair with someones wife. They need to be hog tied and strung up in a tree with honey poured all over them so that the ants can have a New Years Day Feast!

Sounds harsh doesn’t it! There was a woman in the Bible caught in adultery and the Pharisees brought her to Jesus. They wanted her to be stoned and they wanted to know if he agreed. Basically they were trying to trap him.

They were judge and jury and they had already found her guilty. We have no right to point a finger at anyone in any situation unless we meet the requirements! The requirement is SINLESSNESS! I don’t know about you but this takes me out of the stone throwing business!

Remember, when you point one finger at someone, there is three pointing back at you!

It’s Tebow Time! Something To Think About!

It’s Tebow Time! Everywhere you look you see and hear things about what Tim Tebow is doing for the Denver Broncos. I hear Christians say, “They’re tired of hearing about Tim Tebow!” I’m not tired of it, I’m hope and pray that Tim Tebow continues to succeed in everything he does!

Why? BecauseTim Tebow is a Christian man and when he succeeds or fails he gives honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What I see concerning Tim Tebow is an athlete who plays the game with passion. It’s true, he’s not the best quarterback in the NFL, but he is a man who loves our Lord!

It’s not Tebow Time, it’s time for all Christians to stand up and confess to the world that they know Jesus Christ. It’s time for us to do whatever we do with zeal, realizing that it’s God who’s allowing us to make a living as He provides for our families!

Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus Ye Soldiers Of The Cross!
