I was in a shoe store yesterday with Robin. The owner of the store overheard a conversation I was having with Brother Steve Williams. He asked me if I was a preacher. I told him I was an evangelist. He said, “Do you go to all churches?” I told him I did. He said, “You mean to tell me you’ll go to a Catholic or Methodist Church?” I told him I would. He said, “What do you preach?” I told him I preach the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He said, “So, you don’t preach a feel good message like most men do you?”
Preach Jesus my friends. Folks are absolutely paying attention to what we say or don’t say about the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Some of the most dangerous people in our churches today are those who are busy as termites but who are reluctant in studying God’s Word!
1 Samuel 5:9, The hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction; and He smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had hemorrhoids in their secret parts.
Doubting Thomas said this to Jesus, “Lord, we don’t know where you’re going, so how can we know the way?”
In other words, “How can we get to heaven?” In our day and time there’s many different religions and they have their own ideas. Some believe you have to be baptized in water to go to heaven and some believe you don’t. Some believe you must be a member of a certain church and some don’t. Some believe you can work your way into heaven and some don’t. Some believe if they give enough money that will get them in.
I appreciate doubting Thomas and I appreciate the questions he asked, but I appreciate the Lord even more for taking the time to answer his questions.
Jesus said to Thomas, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me.”
This my friends is the gospel in a nutshell and this is how a person can get into heaven Jesus is the key!
We have a tendency to judge this person for saying a bad word or talking about someone behind their backs. Some of the things folks do and say absolutely shocks us. We need to remember that we are human to and are capable of the same things my friends.
