Feeling Good!

Feeling good, we all like feeling good. We all want that atta boy or that pat on the back. It’s good to be encouraged but there’s times when a person needs to be told exactly how it is.

I had a preacher tell me one time he wasn’t going to talk about sin anymore because it offended people. It’s  true, some people get offended when a person preaches about sin. I’d rather them hear the truth and possibly repent than to hear a feel good sermon and possibly die and go to hell!

You wanna know what makes me feel good. I like hearing a good sermon about how God loves the sinner but hates the sin. I like hearing about how God’s mercy and grace is offered to a lost and dying world. I like seeing people walk the aisle at the end of a service with their hearts broken because of their sins!

It makes me feel good that God will bust my chops when I decide to do what I want, when I want, and how I want! It makes me feel good that God disciplines me when I put others, or things before Him. God does this because He loves me, and that makes me feel good!

Remember, God only disciplines His children, He doesn’t spank the devils children. If you’re a child of God and He’s busting your chops or spanking you for some reason, be thankful!

Proverbs 3:12, “For whom the Lord loves He corrects; even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights!”

Isn’t It Wonderful?

Isn’t it wonderful that we serve a risen Saviour and He’s in the world today? We don’t see Him physically but we can see and hear Him in the lives of others. A kind word of encouragement or a good deed done! A christian brother or sister reaching out to someone who’s lost a loved one, and the list goes on and on!

Because of a risen Saviour we don’ have to fear death. Death to a Christian should be looked at as a bonus. When we kick the bucket we’ll be with the Lord in glory, a perfect place. A place where there is no air conditioning, no heaters, no suffering and no pain. Heaven is a perfect place.

In heaven we’ll see Jesus and we’ll walk on streets made of gold. Isn’t it funny, the things we value so much on this earth we’ll walk on in heaven. Heaven is a wonderful place, and it’s filled with glory and grace. The ticket for you getting there is knowing Jesus.

Jesus says in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me!’

Emmanuel Baptist Church, White Oak, Texas! The Bubba Adventure Update!

Yesterday, Robin and I were at Emmanuel Baptist Church in White Oak, Texas. White Oak is located very close to Longview, Texas.

We had a wonderful time. The people there made us feel right at home. Jason Chism, the song leader did a great job leading the people in worship! After he finished, I lead the entire congregation in “Grin Again Gang!”

The Holy Spirit moved in the morning and evening worship services. Sixty six people walked the aisle and fifteen made professions of faith! Now, if that doesn’t excite you, you’d better check your salvation out!

To God be the glory. Let’s praise Him today for his goodness!

God Uses Simple Folk!

Since I’ve been in the ministry I’ve heard many people say, “God Can’t Use Me The Way He Uses Others! I’m Not A Very Popular Person, No One Cares To Listen To me!”  Believe it or not, God wants to use simple folk like me and you!

When Jesus chose His disciples, He didn’t choose Olympic Champs or Roman Senators. He chose simple folk like you and me! Some were fishermen, one was a political extremist, one was a tax collector, and one was a publican, a nobody in society.

He used these men to change the Roman world upside down for Christ. How did He do it? Through their popularity? They had none! Their position? They had none! Through their riches? They had none! Through power? That’s right! They had power, and that power was the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit!

Don’t forget, the Lord still uses ordinary people to turn His world upside down. He wants to use you today and He wants to use me!

Romans 6:13 says, “Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”

Sickening To God!

I talked with my sister last week who lives in Georgia. She told me she’d went home because of an upset stomach and she’d thrown up. In the book of revelation the Bible talks about God having an upset stomach and Him throwing up!

Revelation 3:15-16 says, “I know thy works,  that thou art neither cold nor hot; I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

We need to understand that we as Christians fit into one of three categories. Hot, Cold, or Lukewarm. A Hot Christian is one who has a zeal for the Lord. A Cold Christian hasn’t nothing going on and a Lukewarm Christian is right dab in the middle. They may be on fire on day and cold as ice the next!

God says the Lukewarm Christian makes Him sick to His stomach and He will spue him or vomit him out of His mouth. He also says He’d rather for us to be Hot or Cold instead of Lukewarm. A Christian can’t have His on way and be pleasing to God.

He’s either Hot, Cold, or Lukewarm with Lukewarm being the most undesirable! If God were to use a thermometer on you today wou

The King Is Coming!

One of my favorite hymns is called, “The King Is Coming!” It says, “The King is Coming! The King is Coming! I heard the angels voices, and now His face I see! Oh, the King is Coming! The King is Coming! Praise God, He’s Coming for Me!”

The Lord Jesus is coming, however, I don’t believe it will be in my lifetime. The reason being is, He’s a merciful and patient God and doesn’t want anyone to perish.

II Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

People make predictions of His return, but no one knows the month, day or time, only God knows. The question is, “If He did decide to come back today, would you be ready, or would you want to crawl under a rock like some slimy snake?”

If you’d like, say this prayer with me this fine morning. “Lord, I pray the things I do, say and think would be pleasing to your ears and eyes today! I pray I’ll treat others the way I want to be treated! Help me to love the unlovable just the same way you love me! Use me today, to point others to Jesus Christ! Amen!

The Bubba Adventure Update! First Baptist Church, Blair, Oklahoma

God is so good to me and the ministry. I started revival services in Blair, Oklahoma at First Baptist Church on Easter Sunday Morning.

We started Sunday Morning because Pastor Randy had been blessed with kidney stone problems.  I’ll have to admit, I felt a little resistance there in the beginning, but the longer the revival went the people began to loosen up!

We had a blast! When the smoke cleared there were 33 decisions made for our Lord and 13 of those were professions of faith. I was absolutely blown away!

The Lord continues to show me that I am a man of little faith!

I thank all of you for your prayers and continued support! Be blessed and have a good one! I’ll cya here, there, or in the air!

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow!

Time goes and comes, and it comes and goes quickly. It seems just like yesterday I was graduating from high school. I got an email from an old friend last week informing me that Wayne Crump had passed away. Wayne was 55!

Life is short and we must use the time God has given us to bring honor and glory to the Lord. We must get about God’s business of telling a lost and dying world about Jesus Christ! There needs to be an urgency on our part concerning this!

People are dying around us daily, and many are dying not knowing the Lord! What are you doing to get the Word of God out? This is a question we as Christians should be asking ourselves daily!

James 4:14, “Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.”

Joy! Do You Have It?

As I travel across this great country I see Christians who say they know the Lord sitting on the pews at their churches  like they’ve swallowed a sour pickle or two.

Theirs no joy in their lives and this should sadden those of us who experience the joy of our Lord daily! I haven’t figured it out yet and may never know why!

Some folks are brought up not to show any emotion. Who knows, these people may be jumping up and down on the inside! All I know is, it doesn’t show on the outside.

I do know this, the Bible says what’s on the inside of a mans heart will eventually come out through the mouth, whether it’s sin or praise for our Lord!

God is worthy of our praise. After all, we’re a bunch of sinners who’s been saved by the grace of God. Once we’re saved we’re on the way to heaven where we’ll see the Lord, loved ones, and walk down the streets of gold together! If this doesn’t make you want to shout for joy and tell others about Jesus your wood is all wet! Let others see Jesus in you!

Zealous =’s Hot!

I played football for 10 years and never had a life changing injury. The reason being is, I was always on the move. I knew it would be hard for an opposing player to hit a moving target. My high school coach told others the thing that made me stand out from the rest was my heart. I was always fired up when I had that uniform on!

Our Lord wants us to be zealous for Him. The word zealous means to be “HOT!” This is the message He gives to the church in Revelation. He says, “Be Zealous!” Be Hot! Get On Fire For The Lord!” The church had fallen into a state of being lukewarm like many Christians have and do!

You don’t do your job half heartily do you? If you did, your boss would send you packing. We should serve God the same way we put our hearts into sports, jobs, or family. We should serve Him with zeal and excitement!

Revelation 3:19 says, “As many as I love, I rebuke, and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent!”
