You Can Take It To The Bank!

There were 150,000 Assyrians garthered outside the wall of Jerusalem! Things looked bad for Jerusalem, it look as if the city was going to fall!

King Hezekiah went to the temple, got down on his knees before God, cried out for deliverance, and God sent him a message through Isaiah.

Isaiah told him not to worry. As a matter of fact he told him that not one arrow would be shot into the city!

Let’s look at this for a minute, 150,000 soldiers outside the city, they all had a quiver full of arrows and not one arrow was going to be shot in the city! You would think out of 150,000 soldiers there would be one tricker happy fellow in the group!

What Isaiah told the king came true because that’s what God told Isaiah to tell him!

God promised to take care of his people then and he promises to take care of his people now!

Fear Not, You Can Take That To The Bank!

Divine Grace!

Romans 7:24, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver meme from the body of this death?”

When Paul said this, he was not a lost sinner but a saint who knew the Lord!

He realized he couldn’t live for God on his own accord! He realized he needed to learn how to walk in the Spirit!

Living for God can only be accomplished by divine grace! Our responsibility is to confess our sinfulness and our inability to please God!

That’s why we must confess sin daily! We must have the redemption of Christ applied to our lives again, and again, and again!

Once we realize that we are wretched people and we understand our responsibility concerning sin and God forgives us, He can then use us to further His kingdom!

Pond Scum!

When I travel I have friends give me some well meaning advice. They’ll say, “Bubba, God is blessing the ministry, don’t let it go to your head?”

I’ll have to admit I’ve never had problems with pride concerning the ministry and I know why!

I know exactly what I am! I am a sinner saved by the grace of God! Even though I’m saved I’m still a low down dirty sinner! I told someone one day if they’d go our to the pond and drag the bottom they’d get a bunch of pond scum. That pond scum would be me!

You see, as long as I stay in God’s Word reading it, God continues to shine his light on me. That light doesn’t show me what you are, it shows me what I am and what I’m capable of!

It’s hard to become prideful when God shows you daily what kind of person you are!

Job says in Job 42:5-6, “Wherefore, I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes!”

Repentance Daily Is The Key To Walking With God! Be Blessed!

A Mother Hen!

As a boy I remember seeing a mother hen gathering her babies underneath her to protect them!

That was her job and she did it well because she loved those little chicks!

As I thought on these things I started thinking about Robin and all you mothers who raised children!

You got up in the middle of the night to feed and change them. During the day you cleaned up after them and listened to their squalling! You’re work was never done!

I for one took that for granite like many husbands do!

Thanks Robin and all you moms for doing what you do, what you have done, and what you’ll continue doing!

We as husbands are blessed!

Husbands, love your wives as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for it!

Expecting His Return!

Yesterday Brother Bob told me that he’d read that the end of the world was going to take place on December 21st of this year!

That’s my birthday and that would be OK with me even though I don’t think it’s going to happen then!

God is coming back but the Bible says no one knows when, except Him!

We as Christians should have an expectation about our Lords return, but that expectation should motivate us to live a Godly life and tell others about Jesus!

Y’all be blessed!

Nail-Pierced Hands!

Let me encourage you, don’t worry, be happy for the economy is in control of the one who has nail-pierced hands and He will move in due time! This one thing I do know friends is this, All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose! Romans 8:28

Y’all be blessed!

Happy, Happy, Happy!

This past week I had the privilege of working for a friend of mine in Houston!

As I watched thousands of people walk by I noticed that many of them had a stressed out look on their faces just like some of his employees!

There was no joy in having the money to buy or, no joy in having a good job!

True JOY doesn’t come in having all the money in the world or having a fantastic job!

True joy comes from knowing the ONE who gives you both and that is Jesus Christ!

When we truly know HIM we can rejoice with money or without, or with a job or not!

Rejoice in The Lord always, again I say rejoice!

My Mouth!

My mouth always gets me into trouble!

Or, should I say I allow my mouth to get me into trouble!

Let me be honest, I have a difficult time staying away from gossip!

I don’t say a lot of mean, degrading things about people but I will join in on other conversations and give my two cents worth about someone, and that two cents worth is way to much in the eyes of The Lord!

Col. 4:6, Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer any man!

Dirty Clothes

Col. 3:8, But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

I have an OU T-Shirt that I absolutely love but there’s one problem, it’s filled with holes! I need to wear it one more time, get it good and sweaty and then chunk it in the trash and go buy a new one!

Mentioned above in Col. 3:8 there are 5 habits mentioned that we as Christians put on and take off like an old worn out t-shirt! Many Christians are anger about the election last night and it’s not a righteous anger!

Don’t get angry about it, God is still on His throne today and He’ll be on it throughout eternity! Today, we’ve talked about anger briefly, tomorrow we’ll talk about wrath!

Cheer Up Christians, The One Who Died On The Cross For Us Will Take Care Of All Things Because He’s Still In Control! Ya’ll Be Blessed!

The Goal of Every Christian Should Be…..

Some Christians set goals for themselves. Some want to read the Bible through in a year and others try to memorize scripture in chunks instead of one verse at a time! I believe our goal as Christians should be to live out the life of Christ in our lives!

We should think like Him, act like Him, talk like Him, and do the things He did! His main purpose on this earth was to come, die, be buried and rise again so that we could have salvation.

Our goal in life should be to preach that message to our neighbors, friends, family and enemies!

Col. 3:2, Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth!
