What Are They Seeing?

Joy is the flag flown high from the castle of my heart,

from the castle of my heart, from the castle of my heart,

Joy is the flag flown high from the castle of my heart,

for the King is in residence there!

So fly it high in the sky, let the whole world know,

let the whole world, let the world know.

So fly it high in the sky, and let the whole world know,

that the King is in residence there.

When people look at you today, are they seeing the King?

Mudsville

McGee says that many Christians are living down in Mudsville. They are the mighty Casey that struck out and lost.

God wants us to have happy hearts. He doesn’t want us walking around in defeat all the time.

In the Book of Matthew it says we should make melody in our hearts to the Lord.

We should do this at church and throughout the day.

Proverbs 17:22, A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Trials and Tribulations Are Good For Ya!

When God allows us to go through trials and tribulations we are told in scripture that we should be thankful for them, which at the time may be a hard thing to do.

1 Peter 1:6-7, In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Pleasant Words!

Every morning after I get up and read my Bible I grab my little bag that has my asthma medication in it. I take two puffs of this and two puffs of that to help keep my asthma in control. The doctor tells me if I do this it should improve my health.

There’s others things that will improve our health and I’d like to remind you of one of those things!

Pleasant words. Saying things to people that will lift them up and not tear them down.

Proverbs 16:24 says, “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”

God Wants To Cuddle With Ya!

Good Morning To You My Friends,

I’m gonna let you in on something personal about Robin and I. We cuddle all night long while we’re sleeping. If Robin’s in bed when I get there, as soon as I get under the covers she starts rolling over towards me. She puts her head on my shoulder and I throw my arms around her and that’s the way we sleep.

Now, there is times I snore or she snores and puffs. When I snore she tells me to hush. When she stores I ask her to roll over and the cuddling is done, finished, caput!

I truly believe God wants to cuddle with us. He wants to draw near to us as we draw near to Him and He wants us to sense His presence. There’s nothing like feeling God’s presence late at night when you wake up all concerned about something that’s going on in your life.

However, just like Robin snoring in my ear and me asking her roll over, when we sin and we refuse to confess it to the Lord, that puts up a barrier between us and God. When this happens we don’t sense His presence like we once did and we have a tendency to blame God.

Well my friends, if you don’t sense God’s presence today in your lives it’s not because of God, it’s probably because of you!

Draw near to God and He’ll draw near to you! Be blessed this fine day!

When Sin Comes A Knocking!

God wants each of us to spend time alone with Him daily. As we read His Word He talks to us. As we look into God’s Word He’ll show us things He wants us to do for Him throughout the day and He’ll also show us sin in ours lives He wants us to get rid of.

As a child of God we need to recognize and deal with all sin. Of course, some of us like to hang onto it. You see my friends we sin because we like it. If sin didn’t look good, feel good, smell good and taste good we wouldn’t be interested in it. But we must remember that sin will only last for a short period of time and then comes the consequences of our choices.

When the consequences come we have a tendency to blame God. Let’s not blame God, because when sin came a knocking you were the one that answered the door!

I John 1:9, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Diarrhea!

Proverbs 13:3, Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.

Have you every heard the term “Motor Mouth?”

This is someone who never seems to know when to shut up! You might be thinking of a few people like that in your life right now, or, if they’re reading this they might be thinking about you!

We all have a tendency at times to have diarrhea of the mouth, at least ways I know I do.

There’s been times I’ve said something and I’m thinking, “Why in the world did you say that Gene?”

We need to ask God every day to set a guard over our mouths, and keep watch over the door of our lips.

Why Do People Doubt Their Salvation?

Why Do People Doubt Their Salvation?

1. They’ve never been saved.

2. They’re saved, but they’re living in sin.

If you say you’re a Christian but you’re not growing in your relationship with the Lord, then you will most definitely doubt your salvation.

Developing your relationship with the Lord takes work just like your marriage does.

You see, I don’t lay in bed at night awake wondering if I’m married or not. I know I’m married, but to have a good marriage Robin and I have to work at it.

Being the kind of man and woman God wants you to be takes work. God will do His part but you must do yours!

Man, I’m A Mess!

Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king!

As I was reading God’s Word this morning this verse caught my attention.

We as Christians are to honour all men. In other words, we should respect them. (I don’t know about you, buy I struggle with this one.)

Love the brotherhood. We are to love other believers, all of them. You mean to tell me I’ve got to love that dude or dudette who attacks me, my family and ministry? Yep! (I don’t know about you, but I struggle with this one to!)

Fear God. If God wanted to He could wipe me off the face of the earth just like I kill a fly with a fly flap. Scripture says that fearing God is the beginning of wisdom. I don’t think we fear God enough, if we did we wouldn’t say, do and think some of the things we say do and think. (I don’t know about you, but I struggle with this one also!)

Honour the king. We don’t have a king but we do have a president. Man, I have some problems with some of the things President Obama has done and is doing. As a matter of fact I’ve been vocal about some of them before. We may not care for the man and what he’s doing but we should honor the office. (I don’t know about you, but I struggle with this one as well!”

Man, I’m A Mess! Here, There, Or In The Air!

What’s Bubba Up To Now?

Hello Friends,

It’s been a very long time since I’ve written you. The reason being is, when I’m at camp or some locations in the United States I don’t have access to the internet.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your prayers while I was away during the summer.

I do believe I only slept in our bed over the summer months six or seven times. I’m not complaining mind you, I’m praising God for allowing me to be about His business of telling others about what His Son did for us.

Over the summer we saw well over 1,000 people give their hearts to the Lord. Your prayers are being answered my friends.

I’m home for a short while now. This coming Friday I’ll drive back to Oklahoma City to be at Pink Baptist Church near Shawnee.

I’ll come back Sunday night or Monday morning and I’ll be home for another two weeks. After that, it’s back to Georgia until Thanksgiving.

I will be flying home in October and November to see my bride.

I look forward to seeing all of you soon. You are a blessing to me.

Here, there, or in the air! Gene Bubba Wright
