Once upon a time there was a running back named Curtis Williams. He had all the talent in the world but no drive or determination. His problem was, he thought he was the cats meow on the football field.

Pharaoh thought he was the cats meow back in the day. He was in control of the entire world. Everyone looked to him for help, food, and protection, but he got to big for his britches.

Folks, we’re nothing but dust wrapped up in bodies. The Bible says, “For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust!”

Sometimes we forget we are only dust, and when dust gets stuck on itself, it becomes mud!

Don’t think that you’re better than someone else. We’re all made from the same substance, DIRT! We’re just SCUM walking around on two feet!

Did you know God has a “Hate List!” That “Hate List” is found in Proverbs 6. The first thing mentioned on His “Hate List” is pride!

Green Country Camp this year was great because of people like you who lift me, the sponsors and kids up in prayer.

There were about 220 campers present. Friday after the camp was over Brother John told me there were 28 re-dedications and 29 salvations. Three of those salvations were adults and one of them was a lady in her mid sixties.

If this news doesn’t excite you your woods all wet and you need to go to the doctor to see if you have a pulse!

Ezekiel 3:1, Moreover He said to me, Son of man, eat what you find, eat this roll, and go speak to the house of Israel.

God is talking to Ezekiel and He’s not telling him to put honey and butter on a roll and chow down.

The roll He’s talking about here is the Word of God.

He is to eat the Word of God. The Word of God should become a part of us friends.

No man should preach the Word whose heart is not in it and who doesn’t believe what God’s Word says.

No man or woman should be teaching a Bible Study Class unless they are spending time with the Lord daily reading His Word.

The pulpit is no place for flowery speech or ear tickling sermons, it’s a place to declare the Word of God!

Obedience to the Lord brings JOY. JOY TO JESUS, JOY TO OTHERS AND JOY TO YOURSELF!

I’ve had people tell me that they believe God doesn’t answer their prayers. They’ve even said they don’t believe God hears them!

Well, God does not have a hearing problem and He sure doesn’t need a hearing aid!

God refused to hear the children of Israel because of their iniquities, or sin!

Their sin was mentioned 32 times and many words were used to describe them. Let me name a few! Lies, destruction, crooked paths, vanity, difiled with blood, revolting and depression!

If you feel that God isn’t hearng you’re prayers it’s not because God is some senile old man who doesn’t care, it’s because of you and me!

It may be because you have sin in your life that you refuse to get rid of?!

This should be our daily prayer! Search me O God and know heart, try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Confession Of Sin Is Good For The Soul, It Will Also Open Up Communication With God!

Some Preachers Are Thieves!

Jeremiah 23:30, Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.

I get sick and tired of preachers who say they aren’t going to preach on sin anymore. They say sermons like that will offend those who are sitting in the pews.

Some preachers, and some of them are on TV, don’t even mention Jesus Christ as they share with their folks. They want you to leave church feeling good about yourself instead of you knowing the sin that you commit offends our heavenly father!

Shoot, I feel good when the Holy Spirit steps all over my toes in church. This let’s me know I’m a child of the King. What better feeling can a person have than to know that?

I would cringe if I was one of those preachers who were leading God’s people astray while I stood behind the pulpit!

It’s time to buck up boys and start sharing Jesus with your congregation! He will bless you if you do!

There are two kinds of rich people, those who give to the work of the Lord and those who don’t!

I have a few friends who I’d consider rich. They give to the work of the Lord and the Lord continues to heap it upon them.

I’ve seen other rich people who don’t give a dime to the Lord’s work and it seems their stack of cash gets bigger and bigger as well.

To the one who gives to the Lords work. You are laying for yourself up treasures in heaven where moth and rust cannot destroy. Your bank account on earth is full, but your bank account in heaven is going to be even fuller! I applaud you!

To the one that doesn’t give a dime here’s what God’s Word says about you!

“Go to now, ye rich man, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you. James 5:1-3

Let’s take a trip together. We’re going back in time a few thousand years! Oh, by the way, you don’t need a passport and it’s FREE!

We’re going back in time when Zedekiah was King of the Israelites. He was a bad, bad man!

He was a wicked and unjust ruler! He allowed those who could help him do exactly what they wanted, and those who couldn’t, he’d make it hard on them!

He allowed the worship of idols and he allowed the people to sacrifice their own children to gods that couldn’t hear, see, or speak.

The government was going down the toilet and most of the people had no morals at all!

Jeremiah tells the King that a another bad, bad man was coming and his name was Nebuchadnezzar. He told him that Old Neb would destroy the city unless there was a turning to God!

Doesn’t this remind you of today? We have a bad, bad leader in office that some have placed there. He doesn’t make good decisions. He makes mistakes and nothing is done. Our morals, even as Christians have been dimensioned! Folks, we’re in trouble, and unless we get our minds and hearts right, God is going to judge the USA!

We must repent and turn to God. If we do that He’ll heal our land!

God compares His creation to many things. We found out yesterday that we’re nothing but dust. Today we find out that we are like clay in the potters hand!

Clay is good for nothing until the potter takes it, puts it on his wheel and forms a vase, cup, or saucer that can be used to put food or drink in!

God says, “He is the Potter and we are the Clay!”

God wants to mold us and make us into what He wants us to be, but here’s the catch, we’ve got to cooperate!

You see, sometimes we, the clay talks back to God. We refuse to listen! We don’t want anything to do with the changes He desires to make in our lives!

When we reject God He’ll reject us! God loves us! We need to stop playing the fool and start letting the Potter Have His Way With Us, The Clay!

Sometimes folks get to thinking they are the cats meow! They get the Fonzie mentality! They think their down right cool!

You wanna know what God thinks of us? Brace yourself! The psalmist wrote, “he remembers that we are dust!” Ouch, to some of you Pastors who think your church can’t make it with out you!

You see, God remembers that we are dust, but little old man forgets that, and he sometimes gets stuck on himself!

McGee says, “When dust gets stuck on itself it becomes mud!”

Folks, God loves you and He made you just as you are. You’re not better than me and I’m no better than you. We are to allow God to mold us and make us into His image.

The only way that can happen is if we get to the point in our lives to know what we truly are, DUST!
