Making Up Is Refreshing! Something To Think About!

I do believe every couple across the USA has had some type of disagreement in their household. Robin and I have had our fair share for sure, and 99 percent of the time it’s probably because of old hard headed me! Those times are not fun but the make up can be.

After a disagreement when forgiveness has been given and received that time is very refreshing. God offers forgiveness to the Christian who is out of step with Him. All we have to do is ask and God will show compassionate as He gives grace and mercy!

Are ya out of step with the Almighty? Are you at odds with Him because of some sin in your life? The Bible says, “Repent ye therefore and return, that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord!”

Stretcher Bearers! Something To Think About!

Mark 2:3-5, And they came unto Him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was born of four. And when they could not come nigh unto Him for the press, they uncovered the roof where He was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, He said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

These four men carried their friend on a stretcher to Jesus because he was sick and they expected Jesus to heal him, and He did!

We need more stretcher bearers in our churches today. Men and women who have faith and will go out and bring in the unsaved so they can hear the gospel! There are many people today who are paralyzed with a palsy of sin, a palsy of indifference, or a palsy of prejudice.

Many people will not come to the church and hear the gospel preached unless you take a corner of the stretcher and bring them in. That’s what these men did, and because of this, their friend was healed physically and and spiritually!

The Bubba Adventure Tour In South Georgia Update!

Hello Friends,

I arrived in Georgia safely and spent a week with my sister and her husband. The first Sunday in Thomasville I had the opportunity to do kids worship for Cornerstone Church of Christ and we had a blast.

I left there on a Tuesday and drove to Blackshear, Georgia where my brother and his wife lives. On Wednesday I started the ministry at Second Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia with Pastor Derwin Griffin. I did a program for them on Wednesday night and on Thursday I did 4 school programs. Thursday night I had the opportunity to speak to about 50 men at the church that evening. On Friday Bob and I headed to Nahunta and did two more school programs. Friday night I was off so my Brother and I went to the Pierce County football game!

Saturday afternoon I work 3 hours making balloons sculptures for Sunday night. Saturday night I headed back to the church where we did a program for the community.

Sunday morning I drove to the church and did a kids sermon right before Pastor Derwin got up to preach. Believe it or not, I was on TV. After that I did children’s church for the boys and girls. That evening I preached and the Holy Spirit moved. There were 15 to 20 people who walked the aisle making some type of decision for our Lord.

This coming Wednesday, September 21st I start at Bristol Baptist Church in Bristol, Georgia. I was save at this church when I was a young buck. I was 16 years old. I’ll speak to the youth on Wednesday night and on Thursday night I’ll speak to the mens group! Friday night I’ll do a Fall Festival for the kiddos. Sunday morning I’ll preach and then I’ll be off until the following Sunday unless someone books me the Wednesday before.

I thank you for your prayers. I only have one night I can book in Septemberand two Sundays in October. The Bubba Adventure – It’s All 4 Him is catching on like wild fire in South Georgia. Let’s give God the praise and glory for it all!

He Told Everyone!

This morning I was reading from the Book of Matthew. There was a leper and He asked Jesus to heal him. The Bible says that Jesus had compassion on him and did as he requested!

Jesus told this man to go and show himself to the high priest and tell no one.

He flat out disobeyed! As he went along he told everyone what Jesus had done. Because of this Jesus had to stay in the wilderness!

An old black preacher was telling this story one Sunday morning. He said, “the leper disobeyed and told everyone, we as Christians are commanded to tell everyone and we disobey and tell no one.”

The old black preacher hit the nail right dab on the head. Jesus has performed a miracle in our lives by saving us from an eternity in hell. Let’s not forget to share this with others as we meander throughout the day!

When Sin Entered, God Withdrew! Something To Think About!

Matthew 27:46, And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

We find the answer to this question in Psalm 22. It opens with these words, “My God, my god, why hast thou forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?”

Then we read the answer in verse 3! “But thou art holy…” You see, when my sin and your sin was placed on Jesus, God had to withdraw! When God withdrew, He turned His back on His Son. He did this so that sinners like you and I could go to be with the Lord in heaven one day! Let’s praise Him, for He is worthy to be praised!

The Hot Kiss Of Betrayal! Something To Think About!

Matthew 26:28 says, “Now he that betrayed Him gave them a sign, saying,  Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is He: hold Him fast…”

That hot kiss of betrayal is one of the worst things recorded in scripture. It’s like having a friend hug you and while he does he’s stabbing you in the back. (We’ve all experienced that!)

Let’s not get down on Judas to much for we’ve done Jesus the same way. Every time we refuse to share the gospel with someone we’re betraying our Lord. The sad news is, Judas never repented and ask for forgiveness. The good news is, he could have but he chose not to. God is still in the business of forgiving and forgetting if we’ll only repent and turn from our evil ways!

People Live As Though God Doesn’t Exist! Something To Think About!

Matthew 24:38-39 says, For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The days of Noah were characterized by gross immorality but the Lord mentions only that they were eating and drinking. Is there anything wrong with eating and drinking? No, we are told that whatever we do, whether we eat or drink, or whatever we do, we are to do all to the glory of God.

The problem was, the people in Noah’s day wasn’t eating and drinking to the glory of God. In fact, they were living as though God did not exist. I see this all the time in the day in which we live.  People go out to dinner and they eat and drink and never thank God for their meal. Even today, we act as though God doesn’t exist. Some people are like my dogs, they just start right in!

Game Day Saturday! Something To Think About!

As I travel across the US from church to church I’ve noticed that many of them have one thing in common. There’s not much excitement in the church. Oh, you’ll run across one every now and then, but they are few and far between.

I have noticed another thing they have in common. Most of the people in the churches love their football. You start talking about OU, OSU, Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, Georgia, Alabama and they perk up like a peacock strutting his stuff.

We get more excited about a college football team than we do about a soul being saved. I know, I’ve been there and done that. It’s OK to get excited on college game day but let’s carry that same excitement to the church on the Lord’s day! After All, next year who’s gonna remember the score between OU and Tulsa or Georgia and Oregon?

What matters most is that souls are being saved and lives changed!  This is the real reason to celebrate!

Get Out Of The Boat! Something To Think About!

Believe it or not, I don’t always obey God!  Sometimes I don’t obey because He tells me to do something I don’t want to do.  I don’t obey because I’m stubborn! I don’t obey because I’m selfish! I don’t obey because I’m scared and I  have a lack of faith in Him! You might say, “I’ve been there and done that!”

I think about old Peter. He always had his foot in his mouth. The Bible says that Peter and the other disciples were in a boat and a storm came upon them. During that time Jesus came walking on the water and the disciples saw him and they were afraid. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid for it is I!”

Peter said, “If it’s you, bid me come to you!” Jesus said, “Come!” Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water. He began to sink because he took his eyes off the Lord. He cried out, “Save me!” Jesus reached  down and pulled him up out of the water!

Peter has been slammed by many because of this. I don’t slam him, I admire for him. You see, out of the 12 he was the one that climbed out of the boat. The others sat there like a bunch of sissy’s and did nothing and I believe it’s because of fear. We don’t do things for God because the things he ask us to do scares us, which reveals our lack of faith in him! Today, get out of the boat and let God have his way in your life!

Amazing! Something To Think About!

Matthew 21:15, And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased. (This is absolutely amazing!)

Men, women, boys and girls were turning to Jesus for salvation and they were worshipping Him and many religious rulers saw what was happening. You would think this would please them but it did not, it ticked them off!

I see this even in today’s time. You go to a church service and the spirit of God moves and people walk the aisle getting right with the Lord and others receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. After the service you’ll hear some rejoicing and others standing there in disbelief.

They’ll even complain about how long the invitation was even though the Spirit of God was at work. If you’re in a church where the Holy Spirit  is at work  and souls are being saved and lives are being changed please don’t complain. Fall to your knees and praise God for His goodness!
