Toubles A Coming!

I was in White Oak, Texas not to long ago and I was talking to a man about the importance of having a Quiet Time. He told me he was reading somewhere in the New Testament. I told him I was reading in the Book of Revelation. He said, “You can have that!”

Some people don’t understand the Book of Revelation and some are afraid to read it. I must confess, it’s hard for me to understand parts of it but I’m not afraid to read it.

There’s some terrible things that’s gonna take place on this old earth after our Lord comes back and takes His people. God’s judgement is gonna fall on a rebellious, God rejecting people! The good news is, you don’t have to worry about it  if you’re a Christian because you won’t be here!

When I read about the terrible things that’s gonna take place, God reminds me of our responsibility to tell others about Jesus now!

Mark 16:15, He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned!”

What? Women In Heaven!

A young man was having a debate with a bunch of girls. He told them there wasn’t going to be any women in heaven and he told them he could prove it!

He opened his Bible and quoted Revelation 8:1. It says, “And when He had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for the space of half an hour.  He then told the girls, “If there are any women there, there couldn’t be any silence for that long!” I’m sure those girls wanted to tear him apart!

Heaven, who’s gonna be there? There’s gonna be all kinds of people there! Indians, White’s, Blacks, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, and the list goes on and on. So, if don’t like someone because of their skin color, you’d better get over it. Let’s not get carried away with the color of a person’s skin, we need to be concerned with the color of their heart!

Roses!

When I’m home I always try to keep fresh flowers in the middle of the table for Robin. I go down to K Rogers and try to find the best deal. Last week I found 12 roses that were absolutely beautiful and the price was unbelievable. They only cost me four dollars and ninety nine cents.  (It’s The Thought That Counts!)

Everyone has enjoyed those flowers now for over a week. I’m noticing that a few of them are looking droopy! Some of the pedals are turning black on the edge and falling off. Life is a lot like that. We start off in life young, vibrant, handsome and beautiful, and then we end up with wrinkled skin, grey hair, or no hair at all! We begin to droop!

We are just like those roses.  Here today and gone tomorrow! James 4:14 says, “Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away!”FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailShare

God Knows!

Isn’t God Awesome? Think with me for just a moment, God sees everything we do, He hears everything we say, He knows why we do the things we do. He knows if our intentions are good, bad, or selfish.

God knows when we’re gonna die and how! He knows who you’re gonna marry and how many kids you’re gonna have. He knows how many hairs are on our head and He knows when one falls out and washes down the drain.

He knows when the sun rises and sets and He knows how many stars are in the universe. He knows where every ant is, and every creepy, crawly thing that hides from you in your house can’t hide from Him. He knows about the lilies of the field and the birds in the air!

God Is Awesome! Let’s Take Some Time Right Now And Thank Him For Knowing All, Seeing All, Hearing All, And Most Importantly, Loving All!

I John 3:20 says, “For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything!”

Renovations Need To Take Place!

My father-in-law was a carpenter. He could go into an old worn out, abused house and make that thing look brand new.  He was a good painter, builder, and renovator!

Our Lord was also a carpenter and renovator. Could you imagine back in the day buying a piece of furniture that Jesus build? You talk about quality, it would have been perfect. He began his life molding and making things out of wood and now He continues molding the lives of  men, women, boys and girls.

He wants to mold you into what He wants you to be, but you have to let Him! The Bible says He is the potter and we are the clay!

Isaiah 64:8 says, “Yet, O Lord, you are out Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand!”

Sleeping In, What’s That!

I can’t remember the last time I slept in past 7:00 a.m. This morning I would have made it but Robin came in and woke me up around 6:45. My motorcycle was parked behind the car and she couldn’t get out! She wasn’t going anywhere until I got up and moved it!

Many Christians are in a deep sleep and they need to wake up now!  They need to realize God has a job for them to do but they can’t do it because of some sin in their life. Only God can remove that sin so that they can continue their walk with the Lord.

God will forgive sin and remove the obstacles in your life that keeps you from walking with Him, but you have to allow it. Aren’t you fed up with playing church? It’s time, no it’s past time to get serious about your relationship with the Lord! It all begins with YOU!

Acts 3:19 says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord!’

Tragedy! Sooner Or Later It Hits Ya!

Tragedy, we’ve all experienced it! Tragedy may come in the death of a loved one or finding out you have terminal cancer. It may come in the form of being served divorce papers from a spouse you thought you’d be with for the rest of your life.

If you’re going through a tragic situation right now you don’t have to go through it alone. God is there and His desire is to give you peace and comfort!

Remember, God does not give us what we can handle, God helps us handle what we are given! I remember the day the doctor told me I’d had a heart attack. It was six years ago, I’d eaten right, exercised daily, but there I sat in the emergency room in Houston, TX.  Genetics will get ya sooner or later!

I’ll never forget the look on Robins face, and for some reason being given the news didn’t surprise me. The first thing I asked the doctor was, “What do we need to do about this thing?” In that room I felt God’s presence more than I had in a long time. I had a peace that passes all understanding!

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.”

The Bubba Adventure Update – Oakview Baptist Church, Madill, OK

Hello Friends,

For the past few days I’ve been staying at the Baptist Girls Home in a cottage with some very fine people in Kingston, Oklahoma.

During the weekend I was at Oakview Baptist Church in Madill, Oklahoma. On Friday I was allowed to do a school program where I got to share with 400 to 450 students. Now get this, they even allowed me to talk about the Lord Jesus! That is a miracle in itself!

On Saturday we had a fun day at the church starting at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. The church provided hot dogs, drinks, snow cones and a variety of games for the children and their parents! I provided all the balloon animals!

During the afternoon we went inside and I did a program for the families. We had a great time eating fire, juggling, and shooting balloons out of the mouths of different adults with my blow dart gun.

During the invitation 42 people walked the aisle Saturday and 4 more walked the aisle Sunday morning, 38 of those were professions of faith.

I stand in awe at how God continues to use this ministry. It amazes me how he can use simple object lessons like a blow dart gun to point people to Jesus!

Let’s continue to praise God for His goodness, for He is the one worthy of all praise

Be An Example, People Are Watching!

When reading God’s Word I see that people were drawn to Jesus. Multitudes of people had a desire to be around Him. It may have been because He could heal the sick and raise the dead. It could have been that He demonstrated compassion and love like they’d never experienced before.

The bottom line is they knew and saw He was different. People today need to see Jesus in us  for we may be the only Jesus they’ll ever see!

We should live in such a way that those who know us but don’t know God, will come to know God because they know us! Godly living is a must for Christians as we walk in this world full of darkness!

Colossians 2:6 says, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him!”

Who’s In Charge Anyway?

I hear people talk about this politician and that politician. I hear them compare this president to that president. I hear comments like this, “If only he’d been elected things would be done differently!”

I’ve come to the conclusion that God has in office who He wants. Sometimes He gives people what they want and deserve! You see, God is in control of this universe, not President Obama, not some senator, or  some governor.

Revelation 4:2 says, “And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.”

The throne represents the rulership of God. It means that He is the one in control. The general headquarters of this universe is in heaven, not Washington, D.C., London, or Moscow, and the one running things is the Lord Jesus Himself!
