Should A Christian Wanna Die?

A friend told me yesterday that we as Christians should want to die. I thought about that for a while and she’s right. Oh, the things God has in store for us in the hereafter. Seeing Jesus and seeing family and friends. Entering the pearly gates and walking down the street of gold by the crystal sea. Going into the mansion God has prepared for us. There will be no more sin, old age, or suffering of any kind. A perfect place filled with God’s glory and grace.

After I thought about the thing she had said only a fool would not want to go to that special place!

You can go there to if you’ll only admit that you’re a sinner and ask Jesus Christ to save you!

Those of us who know Him are truly blessed my friends!

Broken Promises!

Eccl. 5:4, When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.

Have you every made a promise to God and didn’t keep it. Man, I know I have many times.

We should never break a promise, especially to God.

How can we make a promise to God, break it, and expect to have a good relationship with Him?

The Gift That Keeps On Giving!

Proverbs 30:4, Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know!

We all know that the answer is God. He holds the wind in His hands. He knows you and me and He knows what we are capable of. It is He who loves us more than anyone else.

It is God who allowed His son Jesus to die on the cross fo…r our sins. He was buried and on the third day up from the grave He arose with a mighty triumph over His foes. He is now sitting at the right hand of God the Father praying for you and me on this Christmas morning.

Jesus is the gift that keeps on giving. Let’s not allow gifts we gotten or given to cloud that fact! Please make sure little Bubba or Bubbette is reminded of that to!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Who Did You Vote For?

Proverbs 29:2, When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.

This verse paints the picture of our nation today. There’s not many folks rejoicing over how this country is being run. All I hear is moaning, groaning and complaining!

Remember this, one man in authority who is right with God can do more than 50 men in authority who are lost as a goose in a hell storm.

By the way, “Who Did You Vote For?”

It Was Just A Cap Pistol!

When I was a boy living in the State of Georgia my mom and dad would take us to the Dime Store in Blackshear.

One day we were there and I saw a cap gun that I wanted but my parents wouldn’t let me get it so I put it in my pocket when they weren’t looking.

Now I knew that stealing was wrong even at an early age but at the time that didn’t matter to me.

I took the gun home and of course my mom say it. She ask me where I had gotten the gun from and I tried to lie my way out of it.

She took me back to the store and I had to tell the store manager what I had done. This scared me half to death but even at that age I was embarrassed!

My mom could have swept it under the rug, after all, it was just a cheap cap pistol, but she didn’t!

At the time I wasn’t very thankful for what she did, but I’m glad the old gal stuck to her guns.

I’ve never forgotten that and never will!

Scripture says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it!”

This verse not only pertains to the parents but to the grandparents as well!

If They Don’t Like You!

Have you every met someone that didn’t like you, and you know they didn’t like you, but they didn’t know you knew they didn’t like you?

There was a man in Muskogee, Oklahoma that didn’t like me and I knew it, but he didn’t know I knew it, so here’s what I’d do.

Every Wednesday or Sunday when I saw him at church, I’d go out of my way to shake his hand, pat him on the back and ask him how his week was going.

I know it drove him up the wall and it was fun. What I did was biblical, but I also know that the reason for me doing it wasn’t!

If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.

For you shall heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward you!

Handicapped And Don’t It!

My wife is a Special Needs Teacher and I must say she is good at what she does. These children are very bright but they do have a physical handicap.

Some folks have handicaps and they don’t even know it. Here’s one I found in the Book of Proverbs this morning. It’s called laziness!

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep.

So shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

What Your Excuse?

Excuses, we make em all the time. I remember a time when welived in Muskogee, OK. I was working at Pepsi Cola and I woke up with a low grade fever. I felt fine but due to the fact I had a fever I talked myself out of going to work!

I’ve also pulled the same kind of shenanigans concerning church over the years. I can remember a time when we lived in Muskogee and we attended Eastern Heights Baptist Church. I wasn’t on staff then, but I was the Director of the Junior High Department.

The weather man predicted ice and snow so I decided we were not going to church because it would be dangerous.

Guess what? It never snowed and the road never iced over. The problem was the weather, the problem was with me. You see, at the time I had a heart condition, I wasn’t walking with the Lord the way I should.

Read the verse below.

2 Samuel 23:20, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, performed great exploits. He struck down Moab’s two mightiest warriors. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion.

Many people want go to church if it’s snowing, raining hard, during hunting season or because of a ballgame coming on at high noon, but this man slew a lion in the time of snow!

This dude had his priorities straight. Do You?

No Respect!

I for one am not an Obama fan. Never have been and never will be. I don’t agree with what he stands for and I sure don’t like the way he’s leading this country.

I’ve been critical of him and at times downright disrespectful. I don’t respect the man but I should respect the office.

I was thinking, which some of you might think is a scary thing. If God hadn’t wanted the man there he wouldn’t be where he is today. Afterall, wasn’t it God that allowed Pharoah to rule over his pe…ople?

As I was reading my Bible this morning this verse stuck out to me like a sore thumb. The first verse is the King James Version, the second one is mine!

KJV – Proverbs 21:1, The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Bubba’s Version – Proverbs 21:1, The presidents heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersover he will.

Do you remember what happened when the children of Israel turned back to God? God set them free from being under the bondage of Pharoah.

If we as a nation would repent and turn from our evil ways, God would hear our prayers and heal our land.

The solution to the problems of our country isn’t getting rid of President Obama. The solution is we as a nation repenting and turning back to God. If we’d do that God would most definitely take care of the other problems as well.

Be blessed my friends!
