Knowing that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
After reading this verse how in the world can a person think they can work their way into heaven or feel they have to join a certain church to be saved.
It’s simple, it’s saying we are not saved by any work that we do, we are saved when we put our faith in Jesus Christ.
If we are saved by accepting Jesus and joining a certain church or being baptized the thief on the cross didn’t stand a chance and it makes Jesus out to be a liar, for He said to the thief that day, “Today You Will Be With Me In Paradise.”
The thief is in heaven and he didn’t join the Baptist Church, the Methodist Church, the Church of Christ or the Lutheran Church, and he wasn’t baptized.
Now, do I think you need to join a church? For sure, and the Bible teaches that.
Do I think you need to follow the Lord in believers baptism? Most definitely, the Bible teaches that as well!
A person is saved when they put their faith and trust in Jesus, and that is enough!
Remember, it is not faith plus something, it is faith plus nothing!
