It’s Tebow Time! Something To Think About!

It’s Tebow Time! Everywhere you look you see and hear things about what Tim Tebow is doing for the Denver Broncos. I hear Christians say, “They’re tired of hearing about Tim Tebow!” I’m not tired of it, I’m hope and pray that Tim Tebow continues to succeed in everything he does!

Why? BecauseTim Tebow is a Christian man and when he succeeds or fails he gives honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What I see concerning Tim Tebow is an athlete who plays the game with passion. It’s true, he’s not the best quarterback in the NFL, but he is a man who loves our Lord!

It’s not Tebow Time, it’s time for all Christians to stand up and confess to the world that they know Jesus Christ. It’s time for us to do whatever we do with zeal, realizing that it’s God who’s allowing us to make a living as He provides for our families!

Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus Ye Soldiers Of The Cross!

God Knows! Something To Think About!

Have you ever wondered if God has forgotten about you? Have you ever wondered if God even cared? Well, God hasn’t forgotten about you and God does care. He knows how many hairs you have on your head and how many freckles you have on your face.

He knows you’ve had that heart attack or the cancer your battling. He knows the scars you have on your heart because of what others have said about you. He also knows the bitterness you’ve allowed to build up because of your unforgiveness. He knows exactly where you are!

There is a man named Zacchaeus mentioned in the Bible. This man was hated by the people because he was a publican. He’d sold out to Rome and had flush his religion down the toilet. He wanted to be forgiven for what he had done and he had heard about Jesus coming to town.

He was short, so he climbed up a Sycomore tree to see our Lord. He was hiding among the leaves in that tree as Jesus walked by. Jesus knew he was there and stopped, looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down: for today I must abide at your house!

Zacchaeus came down, took Jesus home with him and was saved. Jesus forgave him for all that he had done. Jesus will also meet you where you are today. He wants to love on you and minister to you just like he did old Zacchaeus. Let’s praise God for knowing all, seeing all and loving all!

Little Children! Something To Think About!

Many years ago I was at a church and there was a man there that had a problem with the children I was bringing in on the bus and van. He didn’t like the children tracking mud in on the carpet even though it wasn’t them doing it!

Back in the day, Jesus had that same problem. Luke 18:15-16, And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not : for of such is the kingdom of God.”

The feeling was that small children were not too important. The Lord Jesus felt differently about children and they were not a bother to him. Have you ever noticed that children naturally come to the Lord. They want to follow him and they’ll follow him blindly. We as adults have to study on it for a while before we take a step for Jesus in the dark and that’s not the way it should be. We must learn to follow Jesus like a little child, putting our faith in him in all things!

The Ceiling! Something To Think About!

When I worked at Pepsi Cola years ago there was an old black man who lived in Haskell, Oklahoma. When he saw me he always wanted to pray with me. He’d always say, “Lord, I am a sinner, I pray my prayers will go past the ceiling and enter the throne room of heaven where you are!”

That old man knew what he was and he wanted God to hear him. He knew that if he prayed thinking he was better than others God wouldn’t hear him at all.  You may not agree with this old man but I did.

Let’s read about the Pharisee in the Bible who had a prideful attitude when he prayed to God. Luke 18:11-12 says, “The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice a week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

My isn’t he a wonderful fellow. Wouldn’t you love to have him at your church. This old pharisee thought he was talking to God but he was only talking to himself. His prayer didn’t make it above the rafters. All he did was pat himself on the back and left proud as a peacock.

When we pray let’s not worry about the other fellow and how we can improve him, let’s focus on what God is telling us about us!

The Kind Of World We Live In! Something To Think About!

Luke 12:54-56, And He said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it comes to pass.

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

We as God’s children need to recognize the kind of world we are living in. Man thinks he is big enough and good enough to bring peace to the world but he is only fooling himself.

Did you know that the United Nations was formed to bring peace and keep peace on earth, yet it is one of the best fighting arenas in the world today!

We need to realize there will be no real peace until the Lord comes back. This may trouble some deeply but don’t let your hearts be trouble because God is on His throne and sooner or later He will make all things right!

Take It Off! Something To Think About!

I heard recently that some people in high places are thinking about having the phrase “In God We Trust” taken off our money!

Let’s take it off, it’s hypocrisy anyway.  We are not trusting in God but in the all mighty dollor! To have a slogan on money means nothing at all. Americans needs to turn back to reality and truth and quit mouthing religion.

Dads, moms, sons, and daughters need to stop mouthing religion to and start living it at homes behind closed doors. When I say this I’m not preaching to the choir I’m preaching to myself!

We should  ask ourselves this question, “Am I living this live for me, me, me, or am I living it for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Take time this morning to read about the man who lived only for himself! Luke 12:1-21!

Fear Rules! Something To Think About!

During the first year and a half in The Bubba Adventure – It’s All 4 Him Ministry I walked around in fear. I had left a job where I knew exactly what my paycheck was going to be from week to week, and now, I didn’t know what I was going to get if anything!

Fear was constantly on my mind. Everytime I turned around I was wondering how we were going to make the house payment and pay the bills. One day I was having my Quiet Time and the Lord busted me in the chops about my lack of trust in Him!

Luke 12:6-8, Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: for you are of more value than many sparrows.

Our Lord gives us these words of comfort  and assurance that He’ll take care of us if we’re faithful to Him. Since He sees the fall of the little sparrow, He is fully aware of the needs of His people!

Pine Beatles! Something To Think About!

I have a pine tree in my backyard that is dead and needs to be cut down. We thought it had died because it lack water but found out  pine beatles had entered in and was killing it!

Here’s what happens. If a pine tree doesn’t get enough water it becomes stressed. When the tree is stressed it doesn’t produce pine tar which keeps the beatles out. The beatles can then enter in and kill the tree from within!

We’re just like that pine tree. When we don’t spend enough time in God’s Word we are easily stressed. When stressed we say and do thing we shouldn’t do.  In other words we allow sin to enter in which destroys us from the inside and destroys our witness from without!

The Bible says, “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against God!” God’s Word is living water and it produces the tar in our lives that helps keep those ugly beatles called sin from entering in!

Struggling With Prayer! Something To Think About!

Prayer, talking to the one who made you and knows you from the inside out! Spending time alone with the Lord may come easy to most but not to me boy, I struggle.

When I get up in the morning the first thing I do is head to my little cubbie hole where it’s nice and quiet and read my bible. While I read I talk to the Lord about the things He’s showing me in His Word, and usually He’s showing me things that I need to get rid of in my own life!

My problem comes when I feel like I need to sit down and talk to Him one on one. The Lord says to be still and know that He is God. Well, I know He’s God, but it’s hard for me to be still! It’s like I’ve got ants in my pants!

Jesus, the Son of God always meandered off to a quiet place and He spent time alone with God in prayer. He was focused and He remained still as He spoke to His father.

Luke 11:1 says, “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

My prayer is this, “Lord, teach me to be still so that I can learn how to pray like you did!”

Choose The Best Thing! Something To Think About!

Luke 10:38-42, Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha got frustrated about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me!

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needed: and Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Are you frustrated and confused today? Do you feel like you don’t know which way to turn? Then, for goodness sake take a load off and sit down. Sit at the feet of Jesus and look in His Word and see what He has to say. It will help you do you housework better. It will make you be a better husband, wife, dad, and mom. You will dig a ditch better, mow a lawn better, and study your lesson better. Your work at the office will be easier, and you will be able to drive your car better. Spend time with Jesus like Mary did. She chose the best part!
