I sometimes wonder how in the world the Jewish people could reject God, and then I take a good long look at myself, a gentile!

I’ve done exactly the same thing the Jew has done. I’ve rejected God and so has every person on the face of God’s green earth!

We’ve all denied Him like Peter did in the garden, and we’ve all said “NO!” to his commands like Jonah who was swallowed by a whale!

Even though we’ve all rejected Him in one way or the other He continues to reach out to a hard headed people!

He Loves You And Me More Than We’ll Ever Know! Let’s Show Our Love To Him Today By Being Obedient!

Isaiah 65:2

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thought!

Isaiah 64:2, As when the melting fire burns, the fire causes the waters to boil, to make your name known to your enemies, that the nations may tremble at your presence!

Just as fire makes water boil, so the presence of God should make the nations tremble.

As I read this I asked myself this question, “Gene, do you really have a fear of the Lord?”

And I have to confess I don’t! If I did I wouldn’t do and say some of the things I do and say!

You see, sometimes I sin and I like it! Shoot, sometimes I make plans to sin! You see, if I really had a fear of the Lord I’d reconsider before I’d do what I wanted and so would you!

I’ve heard many people say that it’s not a good thing to fear the Lord because He is a God of love, but the Bible says, “To Fear The Lord Is The Beginning Of Wisdom!”

I think I’ll go with what God’s Word Says! Amen!

I read on Facebook all the time where people say God is a God of love. This is true, but He’s also a God of wrath!

You see, the first time He came He came in the form of a helpless baby. He walked the earth, was ridiculed, made fun of, spit on, slapped, beaten within an inch of His life, nailed to the cross, became our sin, buried and on the third day rose again!

He did this so that sinners like YOU and ME could have SALVATION!

The second time He comes He’ll come as King of Kings. For those of us who know Him we’ll be taken to heaven, for those who don’t, they’ll be left behind to receive His wrath!

Judgement from a Holy God is frightful, and He is coming in judgement when He returns to this earth, and we don’t need to apologize for Him concerning that!

God has made every provison for us to escape His wrath. All ya gotta do is surrender your heart and life to Jesus!

I Can Only Imagine!

And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name! Isaiah 62:2

I’ve never been crazy about my given name, Gene! Even though Gene means “Noble” it’s never set well with me. When I was a boy I asked my mom if I could change my name to “Tex!”

She let me know in her own way that would never happen!

When our Lord comes back everything is going to be new. We’ll receive a new heart, a new situation, a new earth, new bodies and a new name!

Can you imagine having a heart where there’s no chance of a heart attack?

Can you imagine living in a place where there’s no bad situations?

Can you imagine living on a earth where there’s no pollution or weeds to pull?

Can you imagine having a perfect body, no grey hair, no losing hair and no wrinkles?

Can you even imagine what your new name will be?

And get this, it will be given to you by the King of Kings!

For those of us who know the Lord we have a glorious future ahead of us!

For those of you who don’t you’re headed to a place that is prepared for the devil and his demons!

If you don’t know Jesus, why don’t you accept Him today?

Don’t you get fed up with people who say they are Christians but they have that gloom and doom mentality?

Shoot man, since we know God and what the future holds for us we should want to stand on our heads and do backflips from the trampoline into the pool!

God has given us salvation through His Son Jesus, He’s praying for us as I speak, He’s preparing a mansion for us in glory, and He’s coming back to take us there Himself!

Isaiah 61:10 should light your shucks!

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with jewels!

Here’s the problem. Most Christians can’t rejoice in the Lord because they are not in fellowship with Him. They have sin in their lives and they are not in the will of God!

Confess it and let God lighten your load! You’ll be thankful you did!

Jesus Is Coming Soon, Morning or Night or Noon!

It’s true, He’s coming and He’s coming sooner than we think! When Jesus comes we will get a new start! To tell you the truth I’m glad, because I haven’t done so well the first time around.

God is going to make all things new. He’s going to give us a new body. In heaven I’m going to have a head full of hair again! There will be no toothaches, headaches, cancer or heart attacks. There will be no gossip, backbiting, murder or thief!

Can you imagine getting your own mansion that He Himself has build for you?

Shoot folks, when you think on the promises of God it makes you want to pack up and go right now!

The truth is this, we as Christians have a bright future ahead of us, but for those who don’t there is destruction!

It’s True, Jesus Is Coming Soon, Morning or Night or Noon, But Many Who Don’t Know Him Will Meet Their Doom!

Since Robin and I have been married she’s always been there for me. When I was playing football at Northeastern State University I injured my left leg during practice. It was hard for me to walk from class to class and very painful to play!

While I was home if I needed anything all I had to do was call Robin’s name and she’d come running.

It was comforting for me to know that she was always there!

What a comfort it is for us to know today that we can always go to the Lord in prayer. I have no idea what you’re going through today, but whatever it is, why don’t you take it to the Lord in prayer.

God will hear your prayers and anwer them from on high!

I don’t know about you, but knowing this makes me Happy, Happy, Happy!

Let me ask you a personal question!

You’re a Christian but you’re not spending time alone with the Lord. You have sin in your life that you don’t think anyone knows about! You want to hang on to it because it feels good, taste good, smells good, and looks good! You’ve allowed this sin to camp out in your heart and life for a long time!

Church time comes and you get all dressed up and you go to church, you sing the hymns, shake hands and put some money in the offering plate. The pastor preaches and you shout a hearty, “AMEN!” knowing all the time that you have this particular sin in your life!

You got the picture? The Bible says that kind of thing makes God nauseated!

The Lord said to the Laodicean Church, “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth!”

God doesn’t want us to straddle the fence. We must decide today whom we’re gonna serve!

The Israelites made idols of gold and wood and worshipped them instead of our Lord. They’d talk to a golden calve or some type of image believing it could hear them and help them. That kind of nonsense still goes on today!

You might say you don’t do things like that but I beg your pardon. We’ve all allow something to come between us and God!

Many people give themselves to things that take them away from God. These things can’t help us, they don’t lift us up, they don’t bring joy to our lives, and in fact they can’t save us!

I wonder how many people who read this got up this morning and rushed off to work without spending time with the one who created them.

If that’s what you did, work is your idol!

God desires to be first in your life! He doesn’t demand it, He leaves that decision up to you!

Isaiah 42:16, And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

This is the way God leads His children. You and I are blind to what the future holds, but He is not. He knows what I’m going to be doing tomorrow, next month and next year. He knows how many hairs are on my head and He knows when I lose one!

God wants us to trust Him even when we don’t understand what He’s up to. He wants us to trust Him in the bad times as well as the good. He will lead ALL who put their trust in Him!
