Trust God, Not Man!

Jeremiah 17:5, Thus saith the Lord; Cursed is the man that trust in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the Lord.

When I first started The Bubba Adventure some folks made promises to support me and this ministry, but that soon fell by the wayside.

I struggled with that for a while and still struggle sometimes now! But God has shown me that my trust should be in Him and Him only, not man!

You see, sometimes we think we can depend on man or political parties to work out the problems of the world!

The Bible says we are a cursed people if we put our trust in men and what men can do.

In this day and time we need to learn how to trust God!

Read This And See If It Describes You! God Gets Weary!

Did you know that God gets weary? He got weary of His people in the Book of Jeremiah and I’m sure He gets weary of us today!

God’s people continued to backslide. They continued to worship idols and put other things before Him!

God said to them, “I am weary with repenting!”

These people had come to Him over and over again with their weeping and their promises to do better, but they continued to go right back into the same old sin!

God was tired of it and He says the time has come for Him to judge them!

The description of the people above describes me to a tee!

Let’s be honest, I’m like that and if the truth be known you’re like that to! We have a pet sin in our life that we’re enslaved to, we commit this sin, we feel sorry about it and ask God’s forgiveness. We tell Him we’ll never do it again, but when the opportunity arises we do. This continues time and time again.

Just like God got weary of the people in the day of Jeremiah, He must get weary of us to!

Jeremiah 15:6, You have forsaken me, saith the Lord, you have gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against you, and destroy you; I am weary with repenting!

What Kind Of Witness Are You?

Scripture says we are to be witnesses for our Lord Jesus Christ!

My question to you is this, “What Kind Of Witness Are You?

When people look at old Bubba, do they see something different in my life or do they see me acting likes those around me?

You see folks, we as Christians are to talk differently, react differently, and think differently!

We are not to look like your average Joe because we are children of the King!

Remember this, if you are a child of God, you are a witness for God, and you are saying something with your life!

Why?

Have you ever asked the Lord why this or that is happening?

Jeremiah was living under the rule of an evil king. The people had turned their backs on God and wanted nothing to do with Him.

Evil men were prospering and the ones who were living for the Lord was struggling!

The king and those who served under him did exactly what they wanted to, not considering the ways of the Lord for their hearts were far from Him!

Doesn’t this sound familiar? Look at the leadership of this country! Their ways are evil, they do exactly what they want, they’re getting rich, and they don’t care about the opinion of the people!

Let me be honest with you. Things do look bad today, but there going to get worse. The knowledge of knowing this should draw us closer to the Lord.

God does not explain to us all the details like we wish he would, but He does tell us we can trust Him to do the right thing!

God has a plan and in the end His plan will prevail! You can take that to the bank Y’all!

You Have To Decide!

Jeremiah was a man who believed in preaching the Word of God. He didn’t candy coat his message to God’s people, He told them exactly the way it was.

Many preachers today have gotten away from preaching the Word of God because they feel like it’s going to offend someone!

One pastor I served with told us that he wasn’t going to preach on sin anymore because it offended people. I should have resigned right there on the spot!

The message today from many is, “Come to Jesus, and He will give you a new personality, and He may make you rich. You’re going to get along real well!”

That’s not what we learn from Jeremiah. Jeremiah says that it will cost you something to turn to God and walk with Him, but it will be worth it!

Let me give you some friendly advice. If you are attending a church where the preacher isn’t preaching God’s Word you need to “GET OUT” and find yourself a church where “HE DOES!”

You Have To Decide!

What Do You Glory In?

As a nation and individual, “What are some things we glory in or brag about?”

Some folks put their trust in human wisdom, power, and riches. We think if the who is in office is highly intelligent we can trust them and take what they say to the bank!

Some folks place their trust in the all mighty dollar and the stock market. As a matter of fact, there are some people I know who spend more time on the computer checking the stock market than they do reading the word of God!

Our strength as a nation should not lie in the fact that we have more nuclear warheads than anyone else, or how smart we think the ones in office are!

Our strength that we have should lie in our spiritual values, moral values, our character and our purpose!

We should be a nation and individuals that places it’s glory in knowing a God who shows loving kindness, who will be fair in His judgment, and is righteous!

God says, “Let him glory in this, that he understands an knows me!”

If you’re just coasting along in your relationship with the Lord, You’re Going Down Hill!

Rejection!

None of us like to be rejected! Rejection is a brutal thing! It causes hurt feelings, anger and resentment!

Did you know that our Lord’s own people rejected Him? He wanted to be Israel’s King but they wanted nothing to do with that!

When they rejected Him He said this to them, “Behold, your houses is left desolate…”

You see, when a nation, or a church, or an individual rejects God He’ll reject them!

However, God is gracious, He is good, He is patient and longsuffering, and He’ll give a person ample time to turn to Him!

Brothers or sisters, you may be rejecting God for some reason at this very moment!

Why don’t you just give it all to the Lord and allow Him to have His way in your life today!

Inadequate?

In the Book of Jeremiah, Jeremiah is told by God to give the people a message! Jeremiah felt that he was inadequate because of his age. He thought he was not capable of doing such a job!

These are the kind of people God uses! God will always use the weak things of the world so that people will scratch their heads in amazement!

Jeremiah felt inadequate, unfit, and unequipped. Listen to what God has to say to him!

But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Jeremiah 1:7

We’ve all been like Jeremiah! We’ve all felt inadequate, unfit, and unequipped!

My advice to you is this, “Whatever God Has Told You To Do Or Say Today, Do It Or Say It Without Question!”

Remember, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! You’ll be blessed for your obedience to Him!

Called By God!

Slowly but surely I made it through the Book of Isaiah. Now I start a new journey through the Book of Jeremiah!

Jeremiah had been called by God to preach the Word of God to a hard headed people.

They were stubborn and set in their ways. For them it was all about I and Me! Does this sound familiar?

God sent Jeremiah to preach the truth of Gods Word to the people because He loves them and wants to save them and wants to deliver them!

Praise God if you have a pastor like Jeremiah who speaks the truth in love! Praise God if you have a pastor who doesn’t sugar coat the message God has given him for you!

The Bible says that in the end people will want their ears tickled. In other words they want to hear a message that makes them feel good!

This is what makes me feel good when I go to church! When the Holy Spirit steps on my toes and convicts me of sin in my life! It’s uncomfortable, but this let’s me know that I’m a child of the King! Knowing that is what makes me feel good!

God’s Footstool!

God is absolutely awesome. He has a throne and His throne is the heavens. He also has a footstool and that footstool is the earth on which we live!

Our God is so big that you cannot contain Him. He is everywhere! You drive down the road and He’s there! You go to work and He’s there! You take a shower and He’s there! Folks, He’s everywhere!

He sees all, hears all and knows all! He knows what you’re thinking, He hears what you say and He sees what you do daily!

For those of us who know Him and have the privilege of living on His footstool we need to serve Him like a servant serves their master!

Isaiah 66:1, Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
